French press (8-cup size works best)
Coarsely ground coffee (similar to raw sugar texture)
Cold or room temperature filtered water
Spoon for stirring
Refrigerator
Standard ratio: 1 cup coarsely ground coffee : 4 cups cold water
For stronger concentrate, use a 1:3 ratio.
Adjust based on your taste preferences.
Add Coffee Grounds
Place your coarsely ground coffee into the french press.
Pour Water
Add cold or room temperature water slowly, ensuring all grounds are saturated.
Stir gently with a spoon to mix.
Steep
Place the plunger on top (don’t press down).
Put the french press in the refrigerator (or leave on the counter if cool).
Steep for 12–16 hours for best flavor.
Press and Strain
After steeping, slowly press down the plunger to separate the coffee from the grounds.
If you want an extra smooth brew, pour the coffee through a paper filter or fine mesh strainer after pressing.
Cold brew concentrate is strong. Dilute with cold water, milk, or a milk alternative at a 1:1 ratio (or adjust to taste).
Serve over ice and enjoy.
Store leftover cold brew in a sealed jar or bottle in the fridge.
It stays fresh for up to 1 week.
✅ Tips for Better Cold Brew
Always use coarse grounds—fine grounds make the coffee cloudy and hard to strain.
Use filtered water for cleaner flavor.
Experiment with steeping time: shorter (8–10 hours) for lighter coffee, longer (16–18 hours) for stronger concentrate.
